The book, distinct itself into two parts viz a viz, Buds and Flowers. The first part spills the beans of a love story which opens with erudite references of Andrew Marvel and ends with story of a disconsolate and woe-begone lover of Keats. The primary features include rhythm, sonority with unfathomable flow and weight of powerful emotions. It does not take stock of rationality but in fact, impels itself to follow the dictates of impulses. Ideas are not put across directly, but through a sizzling and seething emotions, effervescent and throbbing pulses.
Whereas, the second portion of the book is more rhymed, stanzaic and realistic. In blossoming of Flowers, we find pictorial beauty of places like Azad Kashmir, dusky evening of river Ravi and etc.
To conclude, “Golden Verses” is a debutante but humble beginning of the poet who is also in government services and in this routine officious life, it is remarkable if someone still cherishes these emotions.
